A large percentage of people from the LGBTQ+ community and/or female and non-binary people are intimidated to approach a barbershop.
In our recent research we had a number of people who reached out to us and shared their stories, a common theme that recurred in their answers was not only did it take a lot of strength to approach a barbershop, they did not feel welcome nor understood due to their gender.
Why does this affect you?
This will affect you as barbershop owners or barbers as it's a no brainer, you are closing down doors to clientele without you even knowing it. Through our research we found that the number one action that most people do to find a welcoming space to find their haircut is by using google keyword searches such as Gender free LGBT

A large of people from our survey said that in order to find a barbershop, there was a more extensive research period in order to find somewhere that they may feel comfortable in.
